May 26, 2015 - Navé & Cortell, LLP, is pleased to announce that Janet Kerr has joined the firm as Of Counsel.
Janet is an accomplished entrepreneur and corporate lawyer. She specializes in corporate and securities law with an emphasis in starts ups, angel and venture capital funding, corporate financing, mergers and acquisitions, and technology strategies. Janet’s passion is working with new companies, and helping with their formation, structure, financing, and strategic planning. She has been involved in the strategic planning, financing, and exit strategy of many technology companies.
Janet is Professor Emeritus at Pepperdine University School of Law where she taught for 30 years. At Pepperdine, she founded the Palmer Center for Entrepreneurship and Law, held the Sudreau-Rippe Endowed Chair, and served as Associate Dean (1987-1990).
Janet serves on the Board of Directors for TCW Strategic Income Fund, Inc. (NASDAQ: TSI); TCW Funds, a family of over 23 mutual funds with over $19 billion under management; La-Z-Boy, Inc. (NYSE: LZB); and Tilly’s, Inc. (NYSE: TLYS); and served on the Board of Directors for CKE Restaurants, Inc., (NYSE: CKR) from 2004 – 2010. She was a member of the Advisory Board for Larta Institute; and is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors and Women Corporate Directors.
Janet is Chief Executive Officer of Kerr Strategic Consulting, which provides strategic business advice to a variety of businesses, including Bloomberg BNA.
